Dear all, my 2001 S4 is chipped with the tiptronic chipped as well. When I accelerate very hard I sometimes get a "bang" sound. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening and whether or not it is a problem that I need to address? Thanks.[&o]

 

It could be coming from your tranny. If you are tip chipped and your dts is worn, then you may get a thumping or banging noise - if it's coming from that region. Where do you hear it and does it occur when the tranny shifts?

 

Imola, thank you for your response. I think it is the tranny. It is not likely to be the dts because this is an automatic?
