Default MTM: 345Hp

Was just looking at the Hoppen Motorsport web site and it suggests that u can get 345 Hp and 385 Ibs with just doing the software, catback,5bar FPR and Bosch Platin plugs?

Are these figures just a bit ambitious or are they spot on?

That whole list doesn't make sense to me. It claims that you can make 420bhp and 407 lbs/ft of torque with a simple chip upgrade? For $750? I think NOT.

If all the other chips (GIAC, APR, etc.) get around 325bhp (usually a little less), there is no way in hell I'm going to believe that the 'magical' MTM tuning can extract a whopping 100 more horsepower. I guess it's possible to get 345, but I'm still gonna call BS on this.

The website doesn't exactly inspire confidence, either. No dyno numbers, no pictures, no pretty layout. Blah. [:'(]

I didnt check out the site but the numbers they claim for just a chip is for the tune. You have to have other mods done to it but the 420hp chip is tuned using the upgraded parts. Modding on a stock chip doesn't really do anything big, you have to buy the tune to get the big gains.

Yeah i know that, but me 'mate' got some mail back from them the other day and Hoppen Motorsport suggested u could go the 345 Hp/385 Ibs with doing the 5 bar FPR, Catback and Platin plugs?

So my question is does the some of the parts they suggest give u the extra 39 Hp/31 Ibs over just the standard chip of 306 Hp/356 Ibs?

Yeah, I figured as much, but it is VERY misleading. The way they list it makes it seem like they sell 4 different levels of chips, the top being a 420hp chip. They don't mention anywhere that in order to have that much horsepower, you should have all supporting exhaust and intake modifications installed, and/or K04s. There is no way you're getting 420hp safely, even with an AGGRESSIVE chip and ALL exhaust and intake mods without replacing the turbos.

That's a gigantic footnote to omit, since the expense required to actually arrive at 420hp is 8-9 times greater than the cost of the chip alone ($750)

I'm not trying to be nit picky here, I just hate it when performance products are misrepresented and throw everyone for a loop.
