Might buy V8 s4?

RE: Might buy V8 s4?
this is the best i can find for comparison between models http://www.audiworld.com/model/
as for the v8, do you plan on tracking the car or are you a straight line guy? if it's the latter, this car is too heavy and the mods for power are as stated earlier, expensive and minimal. but, if you like "spirited driving" or tracking your car, there is plenty to do to suspension and drivetrain that will do more justice than exhaust (mostly changes the noise you make) or chip (maybe 5 hp... maybe) or intake (all i've heard is that it sounds like you might have a supercharger under the hood. woo hoo!). i live in the stix, so the majority of roads around have twists and turns, plusnurburgringis about a 45min drive away, so i've been looking into center diff, sway bar and coilovers. straight line acceleration is fun, i won't argue on that, but going into a turn at speed and wondering- "ami really gonna make this?"that's what this car is geared towards.

http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...amp;IL=b6s4exhAnyone heard of this brand? There dyno shows an increase of 14hp for exhaust? Is this a lie or something

Alright, so basically unless I want to spend a fortune I need to be happy with the 340hp. Also, I'm a little confused why is a m3 capable of beating the s4 in a straight line? I did some comparisons and the m3 weighs 3,415lbs with 333hp and 262ft/lbs vs the S4 with 3,420lbs and 340hp and 302ft/lbs. Does this have to do with the AWD? I've heard that in a straight line AWD cars aren't the best because the engine has to produce power to all 4 wheels instead of just sending power to 2. Is this the reason why?

you can count on 18% reduction from crank to wheels. remember to think about two axles instead of just the one.split between axles, crank power is distributed. i don't think your numbers on weight are correct. i think that the b7 is around 3800lbs. that 400lbs. makes a difference. if you launch in a wet environ, the quattro has more grip, and possibly a better launch/time. i still stick to this- if you want straight away time, go for an american muscle car and make sure it's gutted. but, if you want a daily that is also impressive, this is it. here is my straight line; i usually set the cruise to 120-130kph since that is the highest on many regulated autobahns. gas ,mileage is decent for this engine and my rpm at 120 is just below 3000. now, if i want to, i just mash the gas and the level of acceleration is constant from 80mph(i watch the mph at high speeds since it is bigger than the kph circle; it's u.s. spec) all the way up to 165mph. then, the limiter finally stops acceleration. you don't feel the cut-out like many cars, it just stops accelerating.
