Looking to buy a used S4, need some tips
Hi everyone,
I am looking to buy a new (to me) car and came across what looked like a good deal on a 2000 S4. Right now I am looking for some help in what questions to ask before going to speak to the owner. While general car buying tips are appreciated I really need specific audi/S4 questions as I am not as familar with audi's as I would like to be. All I know right now is that the car is in central NY (where I am from), and it has 53k on it.
Being from central NY rust is an issue for any car so first off is there any particular places that are known to be prone to rust? I have heard varying comments on the reliability of the S4 after 5 years or so. In most of the negative comments it was hard to tell weather the problem was the cost of fixing a repair or the actual reliablity. This would be a daily driver for me so should I be worried about getting to work or about paying for a new car with the repairs over the next couple years? Along the same lines how much should I be ready to spend a year in maintenance if I get this car? I realize this is not an economy car but what do people get for milage (sorry if this is somewhere else in the forum)?
Thanks for any and all help.
