Default k16/k04 S4!!!!!

So, guys... I need some advice. I just bought some K16/K04's out of a 04' Porsche 996 and am wondering about anything and everything with fitment, fueling, etc... I've heard they bolt right on... but before ripping my car apart I am looking for some solid answers on the matter. Thanks again.

Mike

I believe you do need a few more parts (like gaskets and pipeing) to just get them in, someone else whose done it shoudl be able to tell you for sure.

You can run them but you wont get the all power unless you do EVERYTHING. K04's can get expensive. Fueling, Headerback back exhaust, Intercoolers, programming, DV if you havent allready, TBB FOR SURE even apr bi pipe, intake and if you finally do get all that power your probably over what your clutch can handle and you shoudl think about stregnthing your transmission and upgrading your brakes, I also wouldnt go this far unless i had done some suspension work. If your timing belt hasnt been done you would wanna do that, various sensors. Not that all of this NEEDS to be done, but to get full power and relaybility yes you would want to.

Help us help you, what exactly do you have done to your car? Is it stock? Obviously im assuming its b5 if your talking about k04s haha. Also what are your goals? Do you want stage 3 power, or is that not somehting your interested in investing your time and money into.

running borla 3" exhaust with piggies, abd intake, samco tbb and f hose, forge dv's. planning on 440cc injectors, big fuel pump, custom tuning with giac software, stage 3 clutch and light flywheel, the list keeps going and going. correction... the turbos are K16/K04. k16 cold side with a K04 hot side off the porsche 996tt.

wow so then all your really looking at is the plumming to go along with the turbos and the gaskets which you can get on ecs as a package. And if you are planning on all those other things then that would complete your car really.

Nope, they don't just bolt on. You need adapters for the inlets & you need custom oil lines, & maybe other parts.

Whats the difference between the k16/k04 and a k04? Isint it a hybrid to the k04 or something like that? Which one would be better in an s4? And do they bolt to the exhaust manifolds?

this thread kinda died without really going anywhere. The turbos are similar to our k04s but straight off the porsche they wont fit on with our k04 inlet pipes. like 2ks4 said you would have to get custom oil and coolant lines because theyre different too. inlets are also different so our rs4 k04 stuff dosnt really match up perfectly. Im really not sure about the manifolds, i think some work might have to be done there too.
