Default K&N Filter Question - 2004 S4

Does anyone know if the K&N filter 33-2209 will fit a 2004 S4? They show it fits the 2005 with the same engine, but not the 04 model. Wondering if anyone has had success fitting it.

Thx.

I searched on K&N's website and it didnt list anything for the 04' but did the 05' im sure that they dont have this wrong so im going to say no on that. Go to a couple of other websites that carry them and see if anything lists for your car.

Is that the best option for our N/A cars? Just the drop in K&N? I've seen a couple of people on here and othe boards that say the factory airbox is just as good if not better then any of the aftermarket cold air kits or boxes on the market...

Thoughts? Thanks guys!

K&N is better not only in making power for the car but also for how the filter works and the quality. Instead of having to change your "paper" filter every so often, you can use a K&N and its a "Oil based" filter and you can use the cleaning kit that cost like $12 retail and reuse it for a long time!!! Plus it allows cleaner air to pass into the Intake system.

All of the above are plus's to get the K&N

I've heard that some people have reported problems with our mass air meters getting some of that oil on them... is this really a problem? I'm not stranger to K&N filters.. I have two of them on my cobra and a drop in on my motorcycle... I'm just relatively new to these cars. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm using it on my car. It's the same filter as the 3.0 B6 application. Drops right in.

ORIGINAL: vnv727

only if you OVER oil them with the recharge kit.........
I think vnv727 was messing with ya, the oil in the K&N filters are known to foul up the MAF sensors on audi's. ALL audi's i should say. If you don't mind using some electrical cleaner on the MAF sensor every now and then, then the K&N will work fine.

I put 25k miles on my B6 A4 3.0 with a K&N panel filter and have had no problems at all with the MAF sensor.
