got one very similar in my 12v, not even rocking the screen all the time and hasnt been much gunk in my box at all, the but dyno and ears approve

 

I did the same thing except i didnt drill the holes in the fender liner like that i just drilled 6 or 7 3/4' holes in the bottome of the airbox and i have the awe s-flo intake and its alot better then the k&n drop in.. i noticed alot smoother throttle response and a big difference in the turbo noise...i love it sounds great...def worth the $$$ IMO....i actually got the awe intake off a buddy that is stg3 and bought it then when he got it his mechanic told him he cannot put it in cause i guess the cone will suck in..awe said they have tested every cone on stg3 and when you go stg 3 all you need is the k&n dop in....
