When i was installing my piggy pipes, i noticed a bad engine mounts on the pass side.
After taking a look at it, space around the mount is more than limited (particulary for the top
bolt). How much time it will take to change mounts ??? I've just ordered RS4 mounts and should
get them in a week or two. Does somebody knows the procedure to get them in/out ???

Have to put in "service mode" and drop the cradle while supporting engine from above. probably the easiest way i know how to do it, unless someone else has another method. probably about 4-6 hours if youve never done it before.

 

To expand on what Coop said, it's a lot of work.
So I would not do it unless you are doing a TB, or other front end work that you need to remove
the front clip for.

Don't forget the Snub mount.

 

Hay guys ware do u get u genuine RS4 mount from apart from the dealer, coz i remmember one of the online vendors a wile ago was suppling them and they werent the genuine RS4 ones?Cant remmember which vendor it was again [:@]

2k, it got the DTS, if i use the snub as well wont it makit to stiff, coz i thought u need a little bit of flex some ware, and some of the guys are saying if u got the DTS dont go the snub?

 

I have not herd anything about it. I don't see how having the DTS & Snub would do anything. The Snub is a stock piece. The APR one is just a little bigger & harder.
The DTS is more for the trans, & drive shaft. It keeps it all straight allowing more torque to get to the wheels. the snub helps keep the engine from torquing.
If anything I think having both the snub & dts will help the engine mounts last longer, and should take some shock off the drivetrain.

I have not noticed any more vibration or harshness from having both. The DTS really helped stiffen up the front end on my Tip. The car handled a lot better after the install.

 

Wow ! Another week end working on that car . I will have too wait a little cuse my wife will F*&?kill me[&:]I already spent 2 days on the Piggy pipes during myXmas vacations.
