recently i've noticed a high pitch noise coming from the front brakes when coming to a stop slowly. when i let go of the brake the noise goes away. it doesn't happen very often at all. i read on another car forum that the noise is a brake vibration issue from the pads vibrating against the rotors. it was referred to as a beer bottle whistle or hum.

now i'm looking to just replace my brake pads. i will try to reinstall the original ones first, but now that i'm here with this problem i'm looking for a recommended brake pads kit. i looked at Hawk, Axxis and Rotora. any suggestion?

I am running mintex red box pads and love them!

I am with the mintex red box pads (front and rear). They are nice, similar to the OEM but lower on dust. Indeed, the sound is a result of a vibration. In my case the sound disappeared with time and after several hard brakes.

 

Im running DBA wiper rotors and mintex red box pads, they still squeek a little sometimes but work well enough.
