Hey Guys,

So my car is making a strange high pitched noise for about 30-45 seconds after starting cold. I have heard it for a while but finally popped the hood tonight and listened closely. Cant really describe it better than that, just high pitched in the engine compartment after starting from cold.

I have no idea...

where exactly is the noise coming from.. if you can give us a general area, we can definatly help you better... right now it could be a pulley, the AC condenser, a belt, the turbos, any number of things... let us know bud, we can definatly help you narrow it down

 

Couldn't really tell where the sound was coming from. In the morning Ill try and figure that out, just gets me that it only lasts for the short time, never longer.

 

well, im going to guess you are TIP. if thats the case, its just your secondary air injection pump. they scream when they are really cold. its nothing to worry about as long as it goes away. when it buzzes like that without going, replace it, otherwise, no harm done.

 

Thats the conclusion that I have come to also after searching the web for quite a while.
