I have a hunch that my clutch is starting to go (stinky and not really grippy with aggressive off-the-line acceleration).

I mentioned it to the dealer and he gave me an ALARMING number.

What have you guys/gals done? I somehow (in the back of my mind) recall hearing about RS4 clutches in the S4.

I'm in SoCal and definitely not afraid of a drive to save a few bucks.

An 04 with a clutch that is going???? Do you abuse that thing or what man? hahahha But I hear you. I have a 2000 with only 72,000 miles on it and the clutch is going big time man.

 

Would you consider DIY? I haven't heard much about the tranny on the B6, but I'm sure it's just as much of a bitch as the B5. With the Bently and a few days, it might be doable. Better than paying $2k for a clutch install

 

nah...I'm a DIYer in many cases, but this may be a bit over my head (and level of willingness).

So, no one here has paid for a clutch job on a B6?
