Exclamation help b5 s4 clutch went out today

I was accelerating hard and shifting quickly from 3rd to 4th and thats when it went out. The clutch pedal seems to be spring loaded so the pedal didnt drop to the floor. However it does feel lighter like im just pushing against the spring now. Im hoping that i just burst a line. what else could this be im about to go out and take a look now but would love some ideas thanks.

well what are the symptoms? If you smell clutch, and the car just revs when you release the clutch in gear, then its completely gone. If it slips(rpm's shoot up) in boost or on high load its on its way out.

Is this what your experiencing?

no there is nothing like that i didnt hear any noise or smells. When i push the clutch pedal it does nothing to the clutch. I cant put it in gear because it just grinds. When it happened and i opened the hood i thought it smelled like a burning fluid(brake fluid). I hope that wasn't my imagination though.

It must be master, slave cylinder, or a line, that would certainly explain the brake fluid. Sorry i cant be of more help, good luck though.

ok well i was wrong i just got the slave cylinder off and it seems fine there was definitely still fluid in the line and now the pedal drops to the floor of course. So what could my problem be im guessing it is something internal. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

you have to bleed the system like you bleed brakes to get the air out of the lines.
