Help! B5 02 won't start after replacing clutch parts
Ok so I will try and detail the things I did leading up to the problem. Thanks in advance for any help.
My 02 s4 will not start. The acc and power come on, but turn the key and nothing happens.
Recently replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders, which did involve disconnecting the ecu.
Also replace the drivers front axle (bad cv boot).
During all of this time while the car was down the battery died. I put it in the trickle charger and now have power back but still no starting.
Checked the clutch pedal switch with volt meter and it is still good.
My spare vehicle died as well so unless I can get this up and running by Monday I'm in trouble.

nothing happens as in, engine doesnt crank?? did you hook the starter lines and such back up?? or it cranks but no start?? then i would venture to guess you broke the crank sensor, or unhooked it. it bolts into the driverside top of the transmission.

Nothing happens as in it doesn't even try to turn over. You can hear what sounds like and electrical spark in the engine bay when you turn the key but beyond that nothing.
Bad starter maybe? But not sure how it went considering we never touched it while working on it.
I don't think we unplugged any wires while we we doing the slave cylinder but I will check. Is there any way to test if it is a bad starter or bad crank sensor?

well dont worry about the crank sensor at this point. if the starter is not engaging start looking at it, make sure you have good connections on it and such. make sure batter has a good connection. and make sure the battery is good. letting a weaker battery die like that may go ahead and kill it....
