Default Hard to start in morning. Please read

So every morning when i go out to my 2006 S4 I have to turn the key several times to get it to 'catch'. it's not that the engine is turning and won't start. it's as if the starter/ignition isn't being triggered. it's getting worse. but after that one time, the rest of the day the car starts right up. any thoughts?

My 04 does the same thing in the morning sometimes. mostly if i don't start it for a day or so. I have the 6spd so im not exactly sure what your problem is. My remedy is to try to start it a few times, stop trying for a couple minutes and then it starts right up.

I'm also having this problem. I bought my 2004 S4 a couple of weeks ago and it seems that if it sits for 6+ hrs, it takes a while to attempt to start. I know the previous owner replaced the clutch and flywheel about 700 miles ago. Could it have anything to do with the wiring to the ECU reading the clutch being pressed is loose?

Agreed with Jetspeed , sounds like a ignition switch contact.

Mt A4 has the same problem,I had use a diagnostic tool MemoScan VAG5053 to read the fault code but no code show.So I do not know what reason cause the problem.

Makes sense, last night (after sitting for 18 hrs at work) I went to start the car and all I got was the familiar "click" that comes from a starter/solenoid problem.
Is the ignition switch a quick fix, easy to find, and/or easy to replace?
