Gtech B4 & after Inmotion chip 0-60 & 1/4 mile
I know I will get flamed for going with Inmotion tuning for my tuning upgrade but I did not just jump in.
I found Inmotion tuning on Flebay & am usualy very sceptical about ebay & cheep crap but for under $250.00 I figured I would. check it out.
I searched VW sites for feedback & It was positive from all that used them
Then I searched the feedback given to inmotion my other b5 S4 owners & emailed those people who had done it more then1 yearago & other then a tip guy who blew his trans 2 weeks later (said it was going anyway) all was positive.
So I did it.
I opted not to send myECU to them & put a 2000.00 refundable deposit on my credit card & they sent me a CD & a "bitshooter"
that you plug into the ECU port.
I got the "bitshooter" in about 10 days & downloaded my factory tune to my laptop & emailed to to inmotion they then emailed me the new tuned file that I had to upload back to my ECU.
Anyway it was real easy&I had no downtime
I know it is not the most agressive tune but I did a Gtec run before & after (only one run before & after so I am sure both can be a little better & at the end of the 1/4 mile the road starts to go up just a little.
before (bone stock)0-60 5.81
1/4 mile 14.48 @ 98.3now0-60 5.38 (tune only)1/4 mile 13.90 101.9The most noticable gain feels to be in the 3k range midrange feels much stonger.

nice... too bad you only got 1 run in each time. Do u know how muchthat chip increaseshp/tq? It's defnice to knock off a half second.
how accurate are thoseGtecs?

the Gtech is pretty much dead on...its surprising how close it is. I used one in my old truck, and it was only off by a few tenths (less than 5) in the quater from what i actually ran, to what it said i ran. I could run in the 12.3's consitantly, and the GTech had surprisingly close to that.

They claim 290hp & 325 ftlb
I do not think they are as aggressive as others.
Gtech claims within 2 tenths or so I was looking for the amount of improvment more then the actual time & I only did one run each because 1) I am a wuss & dont want to go to jail for doing 100 in a 25 zone & 2) I just dont think 4000rmp clutch drops can be good for my 85k drivetrain

understandable, i was just thinking about gettting one.
ya that tune seems very conservative when compared withchips like GIAC and Dorito's.
yoo could have found a GIAC in the classified's for around the same price, as the guys at AW were saying

Turbo diesels are beasts. My friend has an older dodge with a 5-speed. It's a single cab longbed and he put a bigger turbo on it and cranked up the fuel and the boost. That truck will pin you in the seat.
