I am looking to buy a GIACx chip from another person and was wondering if it would work on my car. I have a 2000 s4 6speed and he has a 2001 6 speed. if it would be compatiable with my car is there anything else that I would need to get in order to install it or anything else to upgrade besides diverter valves which I already upgraded?

 

I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that even though the version (letter) of the ECUs between your car and your friends might be different, after the GIAC mod it will work in any year B5. However, I think one of the side-effects might be the EPC light coming on.

Upgrade your throttle body boot as well.
