I was tooling along at or about the speed limit...I know, I know...but I always let the car warm up and it was still doing so this morning when an orange(ish) (5.7L) GTO came up fast on my bumper and shot by me as I pulled into the right lane and continued on only just slightly faster then before... As fate would have it I ended up behind him at a left turn light a ways along...and it was essentially over before it started...he pulled into the left lane and struggled for traction while I just effortlessly pulled (and I mean pulled!) around him on the right...and I made sure his futile attempts at close pursuit would be to no avail (St3 does rock at WOT!...and I so rarely ever get the oppurtunity to really stomp it as I would like...)...it was almost sad really...but for some reason I was grinning widely...

TRue nice , my friend was in his Stage 2+ and he raced a 6.0L GTO and a Turbo RSX. They poulled about 40-160 and well just say the RSx.... after gettign traction in 4th!? gear kinda stomped both of them by about 4 cars and the GTO beat out the S by about car half/ 2 cars. So yea good job but the real test is those 6.0L. Pretty fast. much faster than the 5.7. But yea im sure Stage 3 will still hand him his ***.

 

Understood. Yeah I think the 6.0 is about 400hp and the 5.7 is around 350. I also understand that some are supercharging these engines! The problem I see that they have is (lack of) traction. No matter the hp it will effect their launch...and with my S....well I actually can chirp all 4 tires at launch on occasion - but for the most part all the power is put down to the road....

 

My Buddy has the GTO 5.7 with a turbo set up on it. He say it has around 470hp at 8 pounds of boost. I shot a video of it about two weeks ago, and would love to show it.
How do i post it? the size is about 10 meg.
Ill give you a little history about the video. In the video he is lighting them up threw 3rd, after that he takes off and is doing 120 by the time he hits the brakes. As he was clearing the hill i hear whats sounds to be a crown vicky pined to the ground behind me, and it was. i did not film the cop because i put the camera in my pocket as soon as i could. The Sheriff could not clock him because of the amount of smoke that was still left in the air. He got a ticket for $60 and 1 point for burning rubber.

Also i will be shooting some videos of my s4 and will love to post them as soon as i find a site to dump them on

 

Great story - would love to see the vid(s)...not sure how to post them here though...perhaps yu can upload to one of the various on line sites like YouTube or what have you - I'm sure someone here knows how....welcome BTW
