Default ******* Apexi autotimers/ local shops

ok so i wasnt comfortable putting my Apexi TT and my boost gauge in myself. i take it to this local shop by my apartment. they say yea, we'll install both of them for about 68 bucks and it'll be done tomorrow at 10. i show up around 1 because my roomates all had class. not done, BG is in and working but they cant get the TT to work. 3 flibbin hours go by and they still cant get it to work. i go out there and talk to the guy and the TT starts its countdown as soon as the engine turns over instead of after its cut off. so i get 30 seconds drive time them bam it cuts off. im so sick of waiting so i tell him screw it ill do some research since your incapable of figuring it out and bring it back. by this time my $68 bill is now $220. im royally pissed and late for work.

so heres my dilemma, apexi is japanese so i have no idea if ill be able to talk to them. any of you guys know what might be going on her? the shop said if i figure it out theyd do it for free this time.

Someone should be able to tell you how they have theirs wired up. I've seen turbo timers in a few S4's and a lot of A4's. Check with the B5 A4 guys as well. Also search on Audiworld, you may find some help their. Good luck.

Have you tried this?

I have an apexi tubo timer and it works fine. My friend installed it in 40mins using the above article.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma....with the about instruction should set you back in place....I went to shop to get the TT install....but they actually told me I don't really need one because our S4 got a build in turbo timer...it just never on because of the factory switch set at higher temp....plus they said the only time you really need to idle the engine is when the turbos been working or working hard....to be realistic...how often we boost all the way home or to some places...even if so...just cruise home within 1 mile away or so with out kicking on the turbos....so with that I went with the lower temp thermo-switch http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng59.shtml instead....and if I do worked the turbos right before I have to park...then I just sit with the driver door open untill the bell go off...that is exactly 1 min....hahahaaaaa

Good luck.

I eliminated all this and got the blue temp. sensor. It works great. I would never pay them 220 for all that bull. take it to a good european ind. and get it done with right.
