Front end hop

Front end hop
Was pushing my stock B7 around some corners today and got a pretty bad front-end "hop" under accelleration. Is that because of the AWD? The road was a bit bumpy but not too bad. Is there a cheap solution?
Also had a question about tire pressure. I have the stock tires on there, which say max of 50 PSI and when I checked they only had about 25. I upped it to 35; curious if there's an optimal pressure.

RE: Front end hop
i like 35-40
but the hop is normal... unless theres like a weird sound being made or you hop so much you cant see the road
you should just make a sticky thread listing all of the questions you have about your car

RE: Front end hop
tire press is inside the drivers door jam. go with that. i know mine is same all around because the weight in the back on avant. don't want to sound condescending on this point, but the ideal press is figured out by some engineers at the company who say what press will give the best grip/ road performance for the specific tire installed. the manufacturer's psi is just stating the max you should apply to keep it saftely within its performance window.
as for the hop, how bad were the turns and did you have the esp off? i have said before, i drive thru hairpins where i live and the speed is only around 40 mph, but the esp bucks the car a little. you have to remember, you (all of us) are an idiot. you have absolutely no idea what you are doing and you are taking that corner too fast! <-- said by mom. so, mom (esp) kicks in and "helps" to make you go more straight and not crash that damn car you spent all your allowance on!

RE: Front end hop
Not sure what a sticky thread is. Maybe I need my Newbie ranking back. Anyway, I thought all the questions is what this thing is about (well, that and slamming on guys that make their car look like a gangsta's).
So, I guess the answer to my "cheap solution" question is to turn off the ESP and risk not having mom keeping me from crashing. An untamed idiot! Lord help the poor people coming in the other direction.

Get the pressures down mate
I had a similar thing on me B6 S4, just remember that these cars r not made for the rough or broken roads coz of the firm suspension
I would only recomemd those high inflated pressures for really smooth highway roads
