Default Found a weird problem tonite

I made a boost leak tester, and installed a psi gauge, to check for leak down and what I found is rather disturbing..

When applying air pressure, it went up to 9.5 psi only, and when I took the air chuck off, I heard a gargluling (SP?) sound, like air in water.. ****. We just had some major rain, but nothing seemed wrong. So, I started digging into the car.. First thing I though was water in the inter coolers.. But, to no avail.

Next, I narrowed it down to the drivers side of the car.. So, Im thinking, maybe I should take the spark plugs out, and see what they look like. Well, I did, and they were ok, just dirty. I do need to change them now..

So, I applied some air, and nothing.. Duh, no compression beucase of the plugs.. So, I put them back in, and hit it with some air.. Man, it was really bad now.. Hrmm, The oil cap is off now too..

So, I hit with some more air, and listen into the oil filler cap. Hrmm, the garguling is even worse... WTF?

Anyone know what might be going on? I am thinking maybe worn out piston rings, causing blow by..

Anyone have any good ideas what might be going on?

Default RE: Found a weird problem tonite

just about to do a pressure test myself, but i'm sure i've read somewhere that you should only pressurise to 1/2 bar (7psi) otherwise oil or something can be forced in/out - can't remember the details.
ah - found them:

'could force oil into the intake which can damage the engine'
