Default few questions..for B5 S4

hi, it's been happening a few times now...i start the car..let it warm up...drive to work/friends place, then when going back home...i turn the car on again and while the car is in park...the engine starts to accelerate by it's self to around the 20-20.5rpm range...wtf is up with that i got scared as hell... forgot to say it then went back down to normal range

and another question...i turn my car on..let it warm up..as usuall...start driving and my intake(stock) or exhaust(stock) sounds like it's aftermarket for a few seconds(loud) whats going on????

I think iv expeienced the same thing. Its just your engine reving a little bit while idleing i dont think its a big deal. I wouldnt use the term accelerating though, acceleration involves a change in velocity, and if your in park you have 0 velovity.

yeah im pretty sure its not a big deal. Its just like a little blip on the tach up to like 2000 RPM's. My car does that quite often come to think about it.

sounds like an automatic choke problem witht the computer or maybe a throttle body misalignment

Yeah, that's also kinda high for an idle, I would imagine as speed said it's some auto "choke" problem, I wouldn't think it's mechanical if it happens at a very specific time and not while driving.

When it starts revving up like that, try gassing it a little. If after you let off the gas it immediately drops to idle it may be a sticky throttle cable, or bad tps.

I know mine allways drops right back to normal, its just a little blip up for a second. If i give it gas the engine revs fine and drops to normal idle
