Engine matching on VIN?

Engine matching on VIN?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to identify if my motor is the original one in the car? Me and my buddy have my motor out and it looks like it was at a junkyard.

Is there some sort of writing on it, normally in yellow? That is classic junk yard, or salvage yard.
If it isn't the original engine then the 10 million dollar question is, "Does this engine have more or less miles than the odometer shows?"
Let us know what you find out.

There is no writing on the motor anywhere thats why I tried to match up serial numbers or something. I think it still is the original motor, the turbos were both gone just about at 66K I just rebuilt and balanced both of them. I'm also doing a stage 3 clutch/fidanza fw, all the gaskets on the motor, new plugs, giac software, piggie pipes for now. Did the timing belt/water pump, cleaned everything up real well, and I'm going to paint my intake mainfold and valve covers red to match the black on the motor covers.
