Anyone know how to get their hands on milltek downpipes for b6 for under 2 grand? Dual exhaust is nice but expensive.

theres still exhaust coming from the headers (aka exhaust manifold) , out of the engine bay, and leading to the cats under the car....

the turbo just goes between the two (manifold & downpipe)

Find a shop to cut out your cats, and weld in straight pipe. Had it done for $200 but no receipt do the fact that it's illegal (you just gotta offer them cash and see if any of the guys agree to it). Unless there's a 90 degree bend you are removing in the downtubes you won't notice much performance, maybe 5-10 hp at high rpm on a n/a v8. But it will make it sound better.

I was wondering the same thing. Wouldn't a non-turbo car have headers instead of dp's. i have also noticed this in numerous car magazines when they list the specs they always say downpipes on v8 s4's.

Look 4 posts up.

If there was no downpipes what would you call the part between the manifold and the cats?

take a look at these downpipes http://www.tantrumwerks.com/html/42exhaust.html. i only have the cat-back and it's great. downpipes usually gain 15-20hp, which is highly debated as different manufacturers use different dynos with different cars with different levels of mods.
