Default Clutch Break in

Hey this is one of my first posts! I just bought a laser red 01.5 s4, 6-speed,no engine mods (never chipped) just suspension m3 mirrors and short shifter, with 39k miles I love the car but within the first 2,000 miles i noticed the clutch slipping pretty badly, i was kind of surprised that having never been chipped the clutch would go at such low milage? regardless, i purchased an rs4 clutch with the AWE LWFW, I had it installed (along with GIAC chip, TBB, and Bailey DV's) and it should be ready to pick up today. I am just curious if i should follow the regular 500 miles of light driving rule on this new clutch? also, could there have been anything i did to make the clutch go to **** so quickly? i never launched or beat on the car!

Well you may not have beat on the car but you never know what the person before you did. As for the break in the instructions that came with the clutch should tell you what the break in is. If it doesnt I would just be nice to it, no hard launches and no hard shifting for the first 500 to 1,000 miles but who knows I usually over do it a bit whne it comes to breakins on my other cars. Or you should call the company you got the clutch from and see what they say about it, I thimnk that would be your best bet

complete 3 piece clutch doesnt have a break in period that's rather down to driver aggression and slack feet on the peddles and im guilty of that ( riding the clutch on red lights )

screws missing? sounds like you got a car from a person who claimed they never did anything and did more than you think...

Idon't see why any screws on the transmission itselfwould be touched for shifter change, although I have not done it on an audi.

Interesting.
