Clunking noise during deceleration.

Clunking noise during deceleration.
Ok, So I started getting a clunking noise from the passenger side rear during deceleration. It does not happen at all when accelerating, and it also stops when I hit the brakes. The faster the car is going, the faster the noise goes. I just had my rotors and pads replaced, but I was told by some people that it sounds like the u-joint going bad. What does this sound like to you guys? Please help!

Yea sounds wheelbearing and if your at clunking stage i owuld highly reccommend getting that taken care of. Humm and squeek not too bad just annoying. Clunking is very bad and Worst case scenario is brake problems and some serious warping which can get dangerous at speeds.

Yeah, I dropped it off at the shop yesterday. If it is something with the bbrakes it would probably be something that's loose, because I just had the rotors and pads replaced. Hopefully it's just a wheel bearing. Thanks for your responses though!

So, they told me at the shop that it is the strut that is blown. Do these even sound like symptoms of a blow strut? I've never heard of a blown strut causing a knocking type of noise that only happens during deceleration and gets faster the faster the car is going...any thoughts?

idk possibly deffinatley could knock on decelleration but the fast and more knocking seems wierd but if there is a small vigration form the wheels to ground that will prolyl cause the strut to move and knock also..... Idk sounds like it mgiht be it. and if its broken your should fix it anyways? Cause it will just cause problems later

Yes, it can cause that kind of noise, but it should not change with speed, that's a classic wheel bearing thing.
But any competent shop can diagnose a wheel bearing, blown strut, or brake problems.

Yeah, the shop swears up and down that it's the strut, so I guess I'll go with his word. I would just hate to buy new shocks when I don't really need them....especially when I'm pretty much broke, lol. Most shops where I live won't touch an Audi, so I don't know if I have many other options.

One more question, and then I'll be quiet about this issue. If it were a wheel bearing, would it be happening at all times? I noticed that it does not happen every time i decelerate. Sometimes it's completely quiet, while other times, the noise is there.
