Cleaning permanent spots from stock rims
I have the "Snow flake" stock B5 S4 rims and I have permanent brown/black spots where the spokes meet the outer part of the rim. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to removing these spots? I do not know if they are from brake dust or grease but scrubing with comet did not work. I am hesitant to try to whip out the dremel. Do the rims have a clear coat or sealer on them? Any helpwould be great! thanks

HAHA do not dremel unless you wanna refinish the rim. To get the stuff off.. i got most of mine off by using a combination of Greased Lightning, and Simple Green Repeatedly till it started to come off. also use a hard brush not some soft brissel thing. but then again i still have some small areas of build up so i gotta find somehting that will get the last bitt off.

LOL, COMMET!!! Were you using a blue dish sponge also?
It's caked in brake dust. Yes, they are clear coated. You have to get some strong rubbing compound, or heavy polish, then with a microfiber towel or car foam applicator, you got to polish it out. You may never get it all out, the rims might have to be sanded & repainted.

Thanks all. I always use commet on my other cars because it gets the white letters really white. I will try to find some rubbing compound and give the foam applicator a try. Thanks again.
