Found a 2001 S4 here for sale, it has almost 105kmiles and is stage3, dynoed at 335hp and 370t (say the slip) guy is asking 15,500. Is this car worth it? he has detailed info for all maint on the vehicle, got all its miles from road trips, never been to the strip but has been to the test autox track in Germany. any advice?

sounds fine to me, how is the rest of the car? What does it have on it for STG III? Most normal well maintained S4's are in that price range, so yes it's a good deal.

 

Not a bad price at all if the car is in decent shape. But if 335hp was at the crank then it was for sure not stage III. Ask him about all the upgrades he's put into it and make sure somewhere in there he mentions k04

 

Only thing that worries me are the high miles and spending 16k ona car with that many miles. Is it worth it? i mean will the car last much longer without falling apart?

 

If the car is truly a stage three, there is at least $6k of upgrades in it so you could like that you are buying the car for 10k. Thats not too many miles for an 2001 judging on what I've seen around. And yes the car will last over 100k, keep in mind all the maintenance required. If you take good care of it and dont drive it hard/digs 24/7 it will last as long as you need it to. Overall 1k really is not a bad price, doesnt hurt to try and talk him down a bit if that's his asking price.

 

well 14900 is what i am getting the car for. He is including a complete list of upgrades with the reciepts upon purchase. looks like it will be mine on Wed.

 

some guys have over 200k miles on them. If you keep it maintained and take care of it..you'll get your moneys worth.

This is a link to the Stage 3 kit that is on the car. It also has cross drilled and slotted rotors in the brake upgrade from Movit(damn rotors BARELY fit in the wheel) and the car was completely tuned by O.CT Tuning the plugs are RS4 plugs(required due to the tuning) and the Dyno sheet, well it's in German so here is a grude translation:

radleistung -- wheel achievement -- 183kW/248,8kps
schleppleistung -- dragging achievement -- 51.4kW/69.8ps

not sure what the PS is...but i did the conversions and the ps numbers are VERY close to what i calculated the HP numbers to be from kW.

BTW, i am in posession of the car, and all i can say is "This is the best 15K i have ever spent"
