Here is the Bose reply, I hate to think what the dealer would try to charge me just to turn this feature off, but I will try next time I'm in for an oil change or something.

Thanks, it's actually an '00 Box. I put in a new glass canvas top so I could tint it and because chopping the plastic was annoying and then updated the lights. I love the car, been a Porsche nut all my life. My S4 is faster but it just doesn't give me the same satisfaction of driving that the Boxster does. I definately don't attempt to bring it out in the winter though.
