For me the gold standard has always been the SPP A-pillar with OEM fabric....however at $350 currently I cheaped out and went with what I did. for $70 installed there isn't much that can beat it. Same set-up as the AWE, similar looking gauge and less than a 1/3 the cost.

the pillar ones are cool, but are a hazard in case of accident unless you remove that airbag.

This thing looks really cool also, but I have read, that they are slow to react.

For anyone intested i found a DIY page for a similiar unit to the one that i originally posted. it looks like it wouldnt be any more than 50 dollars worth of parts and a couple hours of time. it has almost everyting you need to do the project, just will take some electronic know how. http://www.impconcepts.com/audis4boostgauge.htm Im going to try this soon as i get a chance. ill prolly make a better DIY for making the actual board.

I've seen that before, to bad it looks like a total PITA to make. I could not get all the LED's aligned up perfectly, or do the lettering perfect, it would totally bother me, I'd rather just spend the $$, now if he offered the gauge face, done, I'd be all over it.

You can send it into them and the dude will do the guage for you for like 150 bucks. he has a template on the site for the gauge and stuff. thats the one part i was dreading was how to make those LED's just right. Either way i think it looks better than most. the vent one is the only other gauge i like but i really like the built in with the red LEDs. im going to go start ordering parts next week and hope i dont break anything.

Thanx 2k S4
I was considerin doing the OCT replacement gauge awhile back coz it looks really factory but on the 2001 and 2001.5 S4 u lose the S4 logo on the tacho

Good chance i will do the EFU one though coz u get so many other readings as well

Thanx all

im a HUGE fan of the boost on the radio spot of the driver info area. Can any1 confirm first hand that it is slow reacting. Or is this just the rumor? And if also known are we talking slow like the MPG reading cause if its that slow i think i can deal with it :-P
