guys are starting to run rs6's and gt's kits now.
there is a car that dyno'd500whpon pump i believe- ASP car iirc. A guy i bought my dp's from jsut put in rs6's and is having EPL tunehis car. I can email him and see what #'s he'll be putting down.
ASP, JHM, Vast etc all have kits out (rs6).
A bunch of guys on AZ like generationjdm, Gurumanare making gt kits. some gt2554's and some gt28xx's.
Agreed with 2ks4, once you are coming up to 500whp, you need to build that motor.

There is A LOT more custom fabricating with GT kit than rs6 kits. i think the rs6 turbo's are about $1000-1200 more than k04's. the k04's are going up in price tho!!

 

i just watched a video of a RS6 S4 vs a KO4 S4. Granted there are other factors the might have came into play but the KO4 was faster. Why are people doing the RS6 setup over the KO4? I think people would rather have a smoother power curve (faster) then a flat line (lag) right?

 

No, the rs6's are faster. I know someone with a very conservative tune and he puts down 440whp on pump. a very well tuned k04 car will put down 400 whp.
I know what vid you are talknig about, and I think the rs6 driver wasn't giving it everything he had, boost leak or something.
the rs6's are producing max boost around 4500? and that's at 28psi.

What in the heck is going on in this thread....

First off, what did that vid show me... I saw a 600hp car run 11.5.. I have never seen any numbers of a 800 hp car.. the gt25/28 kits are putting down 6-700 from what ive seen..but i have yet to see a car one of those go faster than that 11.5... Both Jaybquick and bigbluebeast and others are running those times on k04's and even faster..

Now i dont know, if those cars just arent properly tuned yet..or if the spool time is accounting for the difference or what...but for the amount your paying for those, its not worth it...

Secondly... ive said this before, someone please show me evidence of the rs6 turbos being faster.. I myself have not seen any proof the hybrids are giving more power or speed... Liek i said before, the fastest times have come from the k04's.. but youre paying more for hybrids, and theyre somewhat less reliable.. The engine like, 2ks4? said, has that threshold and its around 440whp..that as far as ive seen, both k04 and k04/rs6 hit and cant go above without changing some other things.

and thirdly, according to the vid, isnt the gt600 and gt28 the same?

fourth.. no replacement for displacement...?? explain why my 2.7t is faster, much faster then the 4.2l. why i can run even/beat a c5 z06... I mean, yes there is some rationale in that a bigger engine produces more power...but not really. thats why the faster street cars have some form of forced induction.

IMO, the best investment at this point is still the k04's...more reliable, cheapest and still produce top results... If you want more power, id go with the gt25 ...less spool and a good fit for the engine...and imo will run quicker than both the ko4 and hyrbids, but just havent seen optimum tuning yet

 

Because our cars are FI. we can tune the shyt out of them, that's why they are 'faster' than somev8's. FIv6 vs. Fi v8 no question what's more powerful. also the stock v8'sare detuned, that's why we can chip them for more power. agreed?

The ASP GT car just did a 11.2 and let off at the end. That has had major problems tho. It will easily be in the 10's with a cage (since it went under 11.49).
Some other GT cars aren't doing so good from what I have seen. K04's FTMFW!

 

^^ agreed...like i was saying i think they can go faster, they jsut havent had optimum tuning yet.. But they have been a headache.... If you look in my gallery you can see a pic of the white avant that was getting the gt28 kit..it took him 2 years to get his car..he got it back and sold it a month later because he was sick of the whole ordeal, .... youre paying double for the GT kit, and a lot of labor, compared to the ko4 which , while still kinda spendy is much less and produces results...

I have to sy there is no replacement for displacement, there's a reason why this is a saying and in case you have all forgotten what is the fastest 1/4 mile time by any v6? v4? ok then how about a v8? what are top fuel cars running 3-4 secs. when any v6 does this in the 1/4 then you can say that statement is bogus.
