Best s4 turbos

RE: Best s4 turbos
what are we talking... 20-25 grand for this gt25/or/28 kits?
That is a A LOT of dough.
Why isn't anyone grabbing a 3.2 audi motor, and doing turbos on that, I guess the point is MORE displacement. Look at HONDA guys, take out a 1.6 and shove in a 2.2... there truely is no replacement for displacement.

RE: Best s4 turbos
I know the guys at vast are testing there rs6's and we will see what they do. I know they worked with they guys on the euro GP car and they were able to make over 500 with the rs6 turbos but that was not on pump.
the 1/4 mile time is 11.5 but the MPH is 134 that is like a low 10 sec pass and almost 10 MPH faster than J. I would think if the vast guys had more than 2 tryes the car would have been faster
also I know the kit is no where near 20k it is more like 11
I think the rs6 turbos are the next big thing. but I don't know how much power you can make threw the current manifold design. I know the auto speed cars were all having head gasket issues. This could be because the runner length on the shorty header design is too small and the exhaust gas pressure starts backing up into the cylinder head. The same will happen if you run the RS6 turbos as they are going to makeAROUND the same power possibly.
We saw this on the turbos BMW cars for a while (too short of a runner length for the exhaust pressure) there few companies that make the turbo kits solved this by extending the runner length of there headers. Not a easy solution...Either way I would sit back for a while and see what the ko6 turbos can and can't do
either way I don't care I am having a kenny bell blowzilla 2.2L supercharger put on my S8 motor....ha ha eat that you super big hp 2.7T guys your run may soon be over.....or not

RE: Best s4 turbos
OK I don't know all the particulars but here is what I know
VAST made the first GT turbo car (in the usa) they had some huge turbos on it GT30???
auto speed made a GT28R kit (GT25) .......the GT28r is smaller than the GT28RS
VAST makes a GT28R kit the GT600 and they make a GT30??? the GT800 kit (the 800 & 600 seem to stand for the WHP of the car)
the auto speed car with the GT28R made 537whp
the VAST car with the same turbos made 605whp
so in responce to the VAST kit auto speed made the turbo kit with a GT28RS..then in turn VAST responded with the GT800 kit that dynoed 781WHP on the WMS car in Californiaand that seems to be where it all has ended
the auto speed kit keeps the turbos in the stock location and uses a stock type header design. The VAST kit keeps the turbos in the stock location but uses full equal length headers. This seems to be where the power difference is from IMO
both kits are around 11-14 thousand and come complete with turn key tuning.
IMHO I have built several performance parts for my BMW's over the years and the 11k for a tuned turbo kit is a steal compared to what it would cost you to do it your self

RE: Best s4 turbos
I'm getting Rs6's put on my S4 next week by vast. It shouldn't be done for approx. three weeks. I am doing rods as well, its definitely needed if you want a reliable car... I will post dyno sheets and such when I have the info.
