hey guys, good and bad news...however you want to take it. There have been a lot of unconfirmed rumors about the new B8. I'm standing in the grocery store right now reading Road & Track. They're usually pretty reliable and are confirming the new B8 will have a 3.0 litre supercharged V6 making somewhere around 350 ponies. Check it out, page 20. I'm not going to type anymore because it gets to be a pain in the @ss on this little keyboard and the lady is gettin pissed at me.

 

I like the idea of bringing back forced induction but they should have went with a turbo.

 

Agree, i would have bought a B8 twin turbo without a doubt. I wouldnt think about a supercharged v6. But hey now well be able to sc the v8's through asp and awe for around 10g's.

 

with some mods and software im sure they'll be able to put down 400+ chp. not bad, but biturbo would be better. Audi does not want to go through with what they have been dealing with ,with these bad k03's. Yes they can make 'better' turbos, but they want a little more security with the SC. plus it'll make decent mpg.
it'll be interesting.

Yah, I was really looking forward to a twin turbo setup. This just means the B5 is going to be even more sought-after by enthusiasts.

Im sure its going to have some potential, but its going to be expensive. $2500 for K04s is now going to be considered cheap compared to the cost of upgrading a SC. I do like the like the fact that Audi is moving to an FSI engine, should make for much better MPG.

 

yea i was thinking of getting rid of my b7 for the b8, but now id rather just supercharge my b7 instead of wasting more money on a brand new car that will need mods all over again

plus the problem with sc is pressure it can put on the pistons, i know that a b7 supercharged can only run between 6-8psi to be safe, anything over 10psi and you can seriously hurt the engine, so im wondering the the pistons will be able to take a sc upgrade anyways

 

First of all, im an optimist, but theres no way in hell Audi will shoehorn a twin turbo V8 into the A4 body. I have no idea what the future Rs4 will hold.

Ill keep my B5 untill it has Garrett turbos and carbon fiber everywhere.

 

ya so if the b8 s4 has the supercharger wat will the rs4 and rs6 have haha but they should have gone back to turbos

 

And lets be honest while superchargers are lots of fun....cough on a v8 cough.... from a tuning standpoint ....which audi wants to stay away from... exhaust gas turbos are the easiest way to make the most power from smaller displacement engines. Im hurt that audi would do this to me.

The 3.0tfis will be fun with 350 hp stock, heck thats more than my b5. I just wont buy one, if i want a supercharger im going to make damn sure its sitting on top of a v8.
