B6 S4 Widebody: How big should I go?
Hey guys, my first post so be gentle.
I've loved Audis for a long time, and I love custom cars, so I've finally decided to get a B6 S4 and put my touch on it. I've seen a few custom widebody kits, and I like the really wide stance look...like Porsche 911 widebody wide. I'd like to do 20x10 inches, or even 20x11 inches wide would be more ideal for my project. Will be getting HRE Wheels. Maybe I will do a staggered setup (keeping overall diameter as close as possible since I don't want to destroy the quattro), maybe not. I'm thinking 255/265s in the front and 275/285/295s in the rear. I'm not too sure though, anyone think I could go 275 in the front? I know I'd probably have huge tramlining issues with that wide a front tire. I posted this because I'd like to see what you guys think.

This is my personal opinion, my likes and dislikes are my own.
Widebody: dont do some custom 1 of fooolish ugly widebody. If anything i would copy the B7 RS4 either using OEM parts or modeling your own very closely after them. B6 to B7 rs4 widebody has been done.
Wheels: Dont go with 20's, theyre heavy and the weight is very far from the center of the wheel. You will have almost no tire sidewall so you will probably bend wheels, no matter how strong and expensive they are. Tires for a wheel that big are also absurdly expensive. Get identical wheels all around, no staggered widths or diameters, the car is AWD, keep it ballanced. Also wouldnt an 11" wheel even with a 295 tire have HUGE poke?
Tires: OEM B7 RS4 is a 19x9 with a 255 on all 4 corners. On a wider wheel 275 or larger on all 4 corners can be done. However id bet 295's are a bit wide, having said that again its AWD, keep it balanced, and youll never have traction issues with 340 hp AWD and four 285mm performance tires.
RS4, 19x9.5, 285
If you hate going fast, then go wide and low on airbags and huge wheels with tons of stretch and poke.......
