B6 S4 Rough Idle and CEL... what to do?
Hi All,
First post. Just bought an '05 S4 with 46K miles on Saturday. Drove it Sunday and Monday with no problems. Put gas in it today (93 octane) and drove it another 15 miles or so. After an uneventful drive to a bicycle shop a couple miles away and back tonight, I parked in the driveway to tinker with my bicycle. Started the car an hour or so later to park it in the garage and immediately noticed the idle was rough. A few seconds later the CEL started flashing. After a minute or so, shut it off and turned it back on. Same thing. Let it sit for half an hour and started it again for a couple minutes. Idle still a bit rough (though doesn't seem as bad) and now the CEL is solid instead of flashing.
Should I just take it to the dealer tomorrow, or is this something I can resolve on my own?
Obviously I'm frustrated that my new baby is already exhibiting problems and I'd appreciate any reassurance you guys can offer.
Thanks,
Josh
