So I i was coming out of a corner pretty hard, and then 2min later i was at a drive thru and i saw smoke from under the hood. Popped the hood and i saw smoke/steam coming from the top right of the motor. it would be 1 o'clock if it were...a clock. But not in the back of it but more inner. idk how to describe the area. But what would be in that area that could cause this? Car is 2001 6spd with 117,xxx miles. help me out fellow citizens!

 

check the hoses that connect to the y-pipe. that round thing that plugs in on the right side of it came off my car once and smoke started to come out. if not that, follow that line around and see if anything cracked. could be the spider hose.

 

Riiight on brotha, could this also effect performance?

 

that whole spider hose assembly helps keep excess oil out of your intake track. like a catch can.over time it could definitely effect performance.
