B5 S4 Fold Down Seats?

B5 S4 Fold Down Seats?
Hey guys. This is my first post here.
I had a quick question about the cargo capacity of the B5 S4s. Whenever I read reviews about the S4, they list it as having somewhere around 13 cubic feet of cargo capacity in the trunk. As I understand, the rear seats in all S4s (including non-Avants) can fold down. Does this significantly increase the cargo volume? For some reason no spec sheet ever lists the cargo volume with the seats folded down. I'm assuming no one here knows the *actual* numbers, I'd just like some objective opinions.
Thanks for any feedback!

Thanks for the quick response! I pictured it exactly the way you described it. So, essentially it turns into a wagon, in a sense, just with less vertical space. Do I have that right?
Thanks again!

I take it you are looking at getting a S4?
I would reccomend looking at a B5 A4 or S4 and looking at the space with the seats folded down. It is pretty much the same as any other seadan with 60/40 fold down seats.

If you need the space get an avant if you cant find one as an S4, they're pretty rare if you're looking for a B5. Also consider a bigger model like the A6 (or S6) or even an A8, A8L, or S8.

"- Cargo capacity: rear seat down (liters): 1,184 and all seats in place (liters): 787"
"- Cargo capacity: rear seat down (liters): 1,184 and all seats in place (liters): 787"
Not to be critical here, but are those figures reliable? According to the Consumer Guide spec sheet, the '96-'01 A4s have 13.7 Cubic Feet of space, which works out to be 387 liters.....
Last post about this, I promise guys. I know the S4 isn't made to be a hauler or anything, I'm just a stickler for accuracy. If I do end up with one, I'll be sure to check it all out before I buy, ofcourse.
Thanks again for everyone's input!
