Default B5 S4 extreme repairs=suicidal

Took my B5 S4 in for an inspection knowing it needed brakes and the CEL had been on throwing codes for pre cat o2 sensor.

Just recently ABS light had begun blinking.
Brought car in to the local Audi dealer and here is the low down.

Codes
P1423
P1411
P1606
P1113
P1131
And this is there diagnosis and cost.

Air pump $1622
ABS module $654
Front brake hoses are cracked
Needs 4 wheel brake job $880
o2 Sensors $566
Temp Sensor $306
Joint $491

Totals $4500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea what to do.

heres a new abs module, brakes (the non slotted are cheaper), air pump and o2's. check the rest of the site for the rest of your items and do the work yourself. you should never have to pay that much for that stuff.

you made the biggest mistake by taking it to the dealer. All of that work is fairly simple stuff and can be done with simple tools. Buy the parts and read the diys. I know that all of those repairs have DIY guides out there.

you can throw away the air pump you don't need it. I took mine off.

The abs you can go get a new one or go to modual masters. they rebuild them

as for 02's call vast. they have the replacement ones for like 150 or less I Think. I just got some you would think I would remember

But I believe that the air pump situation or at the very least a hose leak is what is causing the P1423 and P1411. Just trying to get this thing to pass NY inspection is a chore.

Yup in NY you need the air pump - even with an eliminator kit you'll still throw an incorrect airflow code and fail. Where in NY are you? If you're not comfortable with some or all of this I'm sure I can take care of it. PM me with a phone number to discuss that or ideas on where to source your parts.

I'm in Binghamton too actually. Do you work on cars in the area? PM me....I got the brakes taken care of, still need to take out the ABS module and have that rebuilt. I found a guy online that does it for 100 bucks and seems reputable based on online reviews. Then worst case scenario I would need a secondary air pump and 2 precat O2 sensors. Best case scenario is that the air pump needs a fuse or that there is a cracked vacuum hose causing the insufficient flow. But the codes are being thrown on both bank1 and bank2 leading me to believe that before I replace the o2 sensors I should have someone check out the vacuum hoses and the air pump. I'm not sure exactly where to look. I have 1 week to get this car to pass inspection.

Yes, I do the work in the garage at my house in Chenango Bridge. I'm less than 5 minutes from Upper Front St (where Dennys is, if you know the area). I'll pm you once I finish this post. We can definitely look into the issues the car has. If it's a vacuum leak on the SAP, we can replace the lines. If it's the pump itself, you're in luck - I have a spare SAP. Also, if the O2 sensors are bad, I've used universal Bosch sensors with success on these cars and they're about $70 each. Check pm in a couple minutes.
