Default B&M Reverse problem?

Hi all,

Ok, so I installed my B&M Short Shifter (#45142), and got it calibrated and everything, but noticed that I can still get into reverse without pushing it down. Has this happened to anybody w/ B&M SS (or B&M SS knock-off brand)?
I'm afraid I can overshoot 1st gear as well since now the shifter can move all the way to the left (reverse) without push-down.
I've reviewed the instructions and double-checked everything, so I'm stumped. Has this happened to anybody else?

Is it any harder to move to the left past first to get it in reverse? Likea BMW is? I don't think your going to have pushdown reverse anymore, I looked at a pic of one and it does have a reverse hook on the shifter shaft.

ok i made some modifications to the shifter reverse latch to make it work. basically i JB welded a piece of metal to extend the length of it so that it would catch the side. Now I have push down reverse again!
