Audi Symphony Bose system
as you all know, my b5 s4 has the bose symphony sound system. i love the system and think it sounds great, but i want a little more power out of the subwoofer. i'm pretty sure the stock woofer is 8" and i was thinking of just replacing that with a JL or rockford fosgate sub. is this feasible or is there something i am missing? maybe adding a small amp to only power the sub would do the trick? thanks for any help...

I bet just running an amp would do the trick. At least you could try that first and always upgrade later. I know those Bose subs are rated to handle a fair amount of power and I don't know what the stock B5 pushes but I doubt it is at the max rating.

RE: Audi Symphony Bose system
Anyone got the specs on what the front driverside speaker is ? I need to replace that and the dealer wants to charge me a few hundred for that 4 inch speaker at the bottom of the door. I have a 1999 A4 with the symphony system and need a realistic way to solve this problem (busted speaker)... please help !

RE: Audi Symphony Bose system
Can anyone help me? I have a busted front driverside speaker on my 1999 A4 with the bose symphony package. The dealer wants to reem me but i cant afford that much for a 4 inch speaker that goes at the bottom of the door. Any alternatives? Does someone have the specs on that speaker? Maybe i have to rewire my car, I dont know how to solve this problem.

i believe the front speakers are 5.25"
and i think you need to do something to be able to run an aftermarket sub beecause the HU doenst have the input for it..... but im not very knowledgable in the subject..someone could chime in.
