Ok here is my situation: I was driving into work this morning and just before I arrived to my destination my "Brake Light" light came on. I checked and sure enough my passenger rear brake light was out. I went in and about 30 seconds later my car's alarm just started going off continuously. I disabled the alarm, and started the car to try and reset the system and same thing happened when I locked it. I replaced the brake light just now thinking maybe that was tied in somehow, but it didn't help either. PLEASE any help would be appreciated as my car has to sit unlocked in the parking lot...windows are rolled up and it was raining a little bit this morning...also I should add that the horn does not sound when I lock it immediately. When I hit the lock the door locks go down but the horn has a delayed resonse to sound...Again PLEASE any help would be very much appreciated! metal1399@gmail.com

 

im pretty sure you just need to replace the brake light and it should be okay. the lights flash with the alarm so they're tied in obviously so that could be causing a malfunction

 

I actually did switch the brake light out...still the same problem...

 

ya the lights are tied into it but they have no affect on how the alarm works. is it aftermarket or stock alarm?

 

The alarm is a stock one...update on the situation is that over the weekend I didn't have the problem. I am hoping that maybe it was the trunk sensor that maybe was just not closed all the way............time will tell.......only thing that makes me question this is usually when I have a door/trunk/etc. open, the alarm will not arm at all and the horn will not have the "delay" when I arm the system....again time will tell.
