Default Advice on car purchase please

the Car is an '01 silver on Black 6spd S4 w/ 39k miles on it. Price is 27,824 give or take after tax, lisences, shipping (from SC to CA), and additional paperwork. What do you guy think. I'm looking for a S4 and I'm pretty picky as to color and trim and stuff. any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say skip for a few reasons: (1) lower mileage doesn't *always* mean better with S4's. For example, the S4 I got had a fair amount of problem in its first 40k, which were all repaired. Then, I bought it at 61k. (2) that price seems high for this car in general. I read about people getting S4's for 14k-17k all the time on these boards. Wouldn't you rather save $10,000 or more and get somethign with ~25K more miles? I mean, even with 39k miles, you are overpaying for this car, imo. (3) I could imagine many other cars I'd rather get for 27k.

My 2c.

While the car sounds like a nice one, I must agree it's a little high.

When I was looking a back in the spring, I found a TON of car for sale locally, most were in the $18-23k range. Overall condition of the car seams to mean a lot more then the miles on it.

FWIW, I picked mine up for $16,5k with 60kmi on it.

I agree with everyone above....not to mention Silver with ebony interior is dime a dozen. Only way I'd be tempted for that price was it was '02 Santorin Avant 6sp with sport package.

hey man dont give up, there are so many S4's in CA. just wait a couple days and check again, id hate to hear about you spending to much on a car (as nice as they are). check craigslist, odly enough people sell them there. Have a little patiance and you will find the right car. GL no matter what you do.
