I know there are a lot of wheel fitment threads, I have searched for what I need and could not find anything.

I just bought a 2004 S4 and I am looking for a set of rims and winter tires. The most common size of rims I see for sale (on ebay, etc) are the A4 17" rims. Will there be any clearance issues with the brakes with these wheels? Or do I have to stick with 18" rims?

tirerack.com does a pretty good job of giving you the wheels that will fit. Only aftermarket rims, though. Sounds like you might be looking for stock.

 

Yeah, I do not need anything too 'nice' just to get dirty in the snow/salt.

But I will check it out to see if that tells me anything.

 

I'm almost positive 17" wheels wont fit our 345mm front brakes, but I could be wrong! I know to fit 355mm you must have 18", so maybe the 345's will barely squeeze in. But I think 17"s will look awkward on a B6/7...

 

I was afraid of that. It just limits the options of the wheels for sale
