I'd say the e46 M3 (manual) would take a stock S4 (manual) with drivers being equal. There are of course variations in engines to the point where you might have a strong engine and he might have a slightly weak (or worn out) one...so you never know. (for a B5) Need to chip to get you in his league though....B5 S4 is likely about the same as a (stock) US spec e36 M3. I think 99 was the first year for e46 - but not sure if M3 lagged behind a year.

 

WOW guys tonight i was with my friend... and we were driving the 1994 mercedes E500(porsche built engine) and then my friend and his dad drive up in a E46 M3... (his dad was driving)
We started a race off a green light...
Off the line it was close and then the M3 just took oFF>>...
I love that M3 but its too much $$$$

HOw would a 2001 Audi S4 vs. a E46 M3 do...

I know the stock 2001 Audi S4 and a E36 M3 would be close... prolly S4 would win with AWD...

What about a (GIAC) Chipped 2001 audi s4 and a stock e46 m3? I want my car to be like that E46... soo fast


Im thinking about putting a GIAC, diverter valves, exhuast, intake...in my car... could i beat a stock e46?

 

From what I've experienced (APR chip) I'm right there with the e46 - though I've never pushed much into the triple digits with any - but from what I've seen they are wicked fast. I'm running the GIAC X chip now and it seem to hold its boost a tad longer then the APR - and as you know - when on boost - you go fast....I think its basically a driver's race - with some e46s being stronger then others and some S4 configs shoing better results. Anywy you shouldn't be embarrased and your car will be crazy fast regardless...

 

Euros4, with those mods you would be right with him or else pulling on him?
