I have an S4 with a manufacturing date of 04-01, what exactly is the difference between the 01 and the 2001.5? The dealership I bought the car from sold it as an 01, but I was looking at a couple other cars on ebay, and my interior looks like what one seller is calling an 2001.5. Any ideas? Is there much if any differences?

 

i hear that the easy way to tell is to pull up the shift boot and check out the linkage. aparantly in 2001.5 they changed it to some new design. the oil cooler lines were increased in diameter beginning in this year. also i think they changed the badge on the 2001.5 and 2002. someone correct me if im wrong, but i cant think of any other differences off the top of my head.

 

The badges are different for the 2000 2001.5. That is the easiest way to tell.

Badges can be changed.. AN ESP Button on the dash is a sure sign it is a 01.5....

 

yeah...sure badges can be changed...but unless youve got a pretty modified car its highly unlikely... not to mention though..there are badges in 4 different areas.. i doubt he changed the steering wheel and dash.
