2000 s4 Time's
ok, Friday night was my first time to the track with the S4.
Let me ask you this, what should a S4 with apr tune on 93, and the draintake mod run? This is a TIP as well.
I ran a best of 14.0. What have other people here run?
Now I put 116 in the tank to run the 100 tune, and when I was sitting in line for the run, the car started smoking like crazy, come to find out, the cat were glowing hot, and burning the heatshields. Now the car doesnt have much power behind it, so I think the cats are clogged. Has anyone seen cats clog with such a little amount of race fuel? I am in the process of the piggie pipes mod now, so it shouldnt be a problem after this. Also has anyone removed all of the cats and not have a problem with a CEL?
I have the Vast performance CEL eliminators for the O2's. Do these go on the first set of o2's at the downpipes or the downstream ones?
thank for the help!!

what were your trap speeds? If you have higher speeds, like just over 100mph, then that sounds pretty close. With the TIP, since you cant exactly rev the engine up at the stage area, you will have slower times, but the trap speed shouldnt be too off. Stock, these cars run 14.0-14.5 at about 100mph. Its not a drag car by any means, hence the 3700lbs weight. depending on what you had in the car will affect times and speed also. For a Chipped TIP car, sounds like you are where you should be. Next time, dont run such a high octane, there wont be any gain from running higher if you arent tuned and set up for it. Also, remove spare tire, and any junk you have, even the back seats come out really easy.

does that make sense 14.0-14.5 stock times, but with the tune thats roughly 80~hp more, it should be in the 13's shouldnt it? What about with the stage 2+, what should that turn. I was launching it at about 2k off the line. I will try to get it higher than 2k but it pulls through the brakes too much.
So what would I then need for mid 12's? without going stage 3+.
Thanks

Sounds like you had the chip set for100 octane and you put in 116..? You would have probably been better off just staying on 93 pump gas, and leaving your chip on the pump gas setting... or changing to 100 octane chip setting with possibility of detonation, but still would have been faster up to that point.
To get mid 12's, I'm pretty sure your going to need the K04s, and a beefed up tranny,at least... Do the other planned upgrades and you will see results... it does sound like your CATs are clogged.
