Im new here and I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I don't know a lot about s4 engine components but I’ve been reading other posts and am starting to get familiar with the s4. Im looking to buy a 2000-2001 s4 for around 20-25k and saved up enough to have about 8k for engine/performance mods. I was wondering what the first things you would to would be.

 

Chip it. GIAC X-chip or APR seem the most popular. Do some searching and you can read up on the differences.

Upgrade some componants, the DV (diverter valves) and TBB (Throttle body Boot) and coolant sensor are recommended. On a 2000 a F-hose is also reccomended.

Then you can do exhaust and a boost guage.

Thanks. I was at teh AWE website and I saw their turbo kit. Do u think I go that route?

 

No need to do the turbo upgrade yet. Most do that upgrade after the KO3's fail. Get the more obvious, immediate, less expensive, and easier mods.... a chip, exhaust, intake, short shifter, upgraded brakes, boost gauge, and upgraded tranny and flywheel will all cost less than the KO4 upgrade from AWE in total.
