why do u want a USA company to tune you if your from Europe and Have MTM over there at your call. Personally for the same amount of power i would just go with MTM cause they are closer for you and you can probably get good support over there with them. And as for the 99-00 issue im willing to be they are the same, a simple call to Audi should clear up any qualms you have. They seem to have endless knowledge.

mtm costs me double like 1000+ dollar for you and almost 900 € and i would have a CHIP in the car, and i have warrantee on the car and that would suck
i just wanted to have a spare ecu and still have the stock one,
11secs4 said it would work just fine on my if he recoded the ecu .

RE: 1998 EU s4 same as 2000 US s4?
we have 95 too here
but wouldn't it just run better on 98 then us 93 cause we have cars here that say 95 in the tank applic paper , but if we mod with exhausts en stuff en drive 95 they sometimes struggle , then we put 98 in them and they run mutch better
but i will buy the giac ecu then go directly to the 4wd dyno and then we'll see the power and A/F curve, let's hope it's good!!!
picked up some 710N's today too

dude what advice, GO mtm is all you said , i don't call that advice, i am aware of all the manufacturers of chips, i asked a question and i wanted an answer with some background info, not just take an mtm of ne i don't think it will work.
i was asking this because 11secs4 told me it would work with some minor adjustments on the ecu software, all i wanted to know was some info from other guys who had maybe tried the same or know more about this issue.
an mtm costs me 850€ and then i will have a chip soldered in my ecu, and that sucks, and i'm not gonna pay another 500 or more € for a spare ecu cause my car has warrantee, if it has to go to the shop and by any means they find out it's chipped, i'm fucked, with the giac ecu i will have my spare stock ecu + i save more then half the money, that aint stupid, money just doesn't grow on threes here and i want some other stuff for the car also
in a year or so i will go stage 3, then my ecu needs to have a remap or i will buy a fuelling kit with it , but in the meantime i just wanne place my cat back with a chip and drive around with 310-320 bhp

I htink urs is actually a 1999 not a 98 it just has a build date in 98. and yes a B5 S4 ran from 99-03. However the 99 wa sonly in europe and the 03 is extremely rare, somehting liek 20-30 of them made or something i read.

UrS runs from 92 to 97
from 95.5 to 97 it was designated as the S6

and you dont need a spare ecu....the only way to tell a vehicle is chipped is drive it hard...dealers should not do this...or open an ecu...dealers have no reason to do this. it is completely undectable on VAG software. So you do NOT need an ecu. The little tweeks...its called LEMI....aka lemiwinks...you can use a VAG software to adjust the elements the ECU controls (a/f ratio, etc). this is not a good idea to do yourself, because these are dectable by a VAG tool, so the dealer will know instantly that you messed with it, so if you are warrentied, you should not go that route.
Simply put...if you have a warrenty, just spend the money on a chip, and have it installed. $800 is not that different from GIAC or APR once you look at adding the different programs and tools to change them. they are all going to be very consistant in price.
get the one that has the nearest dealer for you incase you ever have any customer service issues. but like i said early....MTM is going to run the best, and makes most sense for you to get. Plus its an awesome chip...
