Well, his car is pretty damn fast. haha. He told me tonight that it was a 69, not a 71. My other friend told me it was a 71 when I made this thread. Needless to say, he kicked my ***. My car seems to "kick out" (I don't knwo how else to explain it) of almost every gear and surges. I thought I fixed it when I changed my spark plugs, but it never went away completely. It acted up bad tonight. At the worst possible time. I've tried to get help on here, but never got any answers really. I got a video or two, but they are pretty embarassing haha. Hopefully I can get my car fixed sometime, and get a good race. I'm thinkin a MBC would help, but I have no idea how to install it or what a good one would be. Any help?

MBC is good for 2 things, clipping boost spikes (running in paralell, dosnt really do anything), and blowing your K03's (running stand alone aka making more boost, which will require a TCD or diode mod).

Neither are really reccomended, this has been beat to death, Use the search function for explinations and diagrams search. If you wanna narrow it down even more search for my username cuz i know i have some good posts about it

Is it a motor or transmission problem? Have you thought about the torque converteR?

Well I'm pretty sure it is an over-boosting problem. I had it scanned about a year ago. (I don't have a Vag-com.) the car was at the dealership and I had them scan it while it was there. They found 3 codes, p1690 p1555 p1676.The p1555 is value above maximum charge pressure sporadic. Over-boost, correct?? The other two were electrical malfunctions. I haven't really had any money or know how to fix it.

overboosting would probably be a waste gate/ n75 problem or maybe even a boost leak both of which would be pretty serious. Its causing your turbos to work alot harder and will hurt them in the long run.

Read this to better understand the n75 http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1046677.phtml its short

Id pressure test the car first. www.awe-tuning.com has instructions on how to make your own with stuff from home depot and how to do it.
http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/faq/...ain.cfm?FAQ=35 just download the .pdf

there is a problem somewhere, see if you can rule out a boost leak, then move to the n75, i believe theyre typically under $100

I'm sorry. I forgot to mention that I had a shop pressure test the system when I got my rear wheel bearings changed. They said they couldn't find any boost leaks and it went up to 18 pounds. They don't work on Audi's there, but my dad knows the owner real well so they tried to test it. Could they have tested it wrong? Would you suggest a new n75 over a mbc?

I agree with HP 100%

I'd probably bet that they didn't pressure test it correctly. I could be completely wrong
but, I just don't see an independent shop mocking up a pressure testing apparatus just for your car. Know what I'm saying?

Do you have a boost gauge?
If not, get one. They are one of the cheapest yet most valuable diagnostic tools for turbo cars.

I'd definitely try the N75 for the overcharge, or double check for a possible boost leak especially for the sporadic boost.

Is it a temporary limp mode or throttle cut you are experiencing?

Well, the shop worked on semi's and big trucks, so I figured they new a little bit about turbo charging. But I am not quite sure how they did it. I want a boost gauge, but I don't really have $240 for an AWE Vent Gauge yet. If im gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right.
If it is in limp mode, you have to shut off the car to take it out correct? I'm pretty sure what I have is throttle cut. I will be under acceleration in any gear and there will be a sudden jar and no power. You can hear the boost being let go. I have to wait for it to shift and the rpms go down for it to create boost again. Sometimes, I don't even hear any of the turbos while accelerating after kick down until it shifts.
I thought DV's first, So i got a pair of 007's.
You guys are really helping me out here. I've tried to get help on here for this before, but no one ever spoke up. Thanks a lot. I really apreciate it.
