I bought a VAGCOM cable off ebay for $20, and used the free 409 version of the software. The tool says "Software code 00002" for my tranny..... Does that make any sense? According to your sheet, 00002 means tip controls working in D, which they definitely don't.

 

Disregard that. 00002 was what my trans was set at as well. I then had it changed to 00032. I have had it at this setting for 8 months with no problems. The only noticeable change will be that you hold 1st until you let up on the gas or shift. It's nice for sportier driving.

 

As a matter of fact, 01032 shows no difference with 00032, no working tip controls in D. See also http://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/145099.phtml

 

It looks like either of those two settings would be the best.
