New RS4 Owner

New RS4 Owner
After looking for a few months, I stumbled across the opportunity to pick up a very nice, fully-equipped, 8 month-oldRS4 with 7K miles. I've haunted many a car forum over the years, and currently still own an 06C6 ZO6, a Lotus Elise, and a Shelby Cobra 427SC replica. I owned an A4 1.8T a few years back, and always enjoyed driving it even though I found it underpowered.
As for the RS4, oh my heavens! It certainly isn't as fast as the Z06, assuming it is able to achieve traction. I have some track time the Z06, but you have to work hard and have some skillgo fastin a Z06 without hurting yourself bad. After all of 2 days of solid, heavy rain in the RS4, I am nothing short of awe-struck. This thing just goes fast effortlessly in good or bad conditions. Even though it's 800 lbs. heavier and short 85 HP, I'm guessing I could turn about the same lap times in each, given myexperience level, which is pretty limited.
I am incredibly impressed, and I look forward to learning from the masters here. Hopefully, at some point, I'll even contribute a thing or two.

Congrats on the new RS man
I have a few days on the track with the vette, not z06, but in the corners where you start to slide out in the vette, your rs4 will just grip and grip like it's on rails. Looks like you have a collection of completely different cars, I bet it's fun seeing how all the different variables come in when your on the track with them..
Has the lotus been out to the track?

Thanks. Yes, I have had the Lotus on the track, and it shines there with about the same power-to-weight ratio as the RS4. It isfairly forgivinglike the RS4,with tons of grip, as long as you don't lift in the corners, where it will bite you by sending you off backwards. It is particularly impressive on tight autocross courses where it competes in the same SCCA class (SS) as the Z06, and the Lotus Elise won the National Championship last year.
From what I can tell the RS4 does everything well, and most importantly compensates beautifully for the "driver talent deficit."
